Urban Gifted Showcase 2009

The second Urban Gifted Showcase was held on June 1 and 2, 2009, at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain.  Hundreds of students from all over Connecticut came to participate in the event.  The theme was “Dreams Take Flight!” and the event consisted of challenging and inspirational workshops geared to high-ability and motivated learners. The event was designed to enrich and encourage curious students in grades 9-12 on June 1 and grades 4-8 on June 2. Peter Yarrow, of Peter, Paul and Mary fame, was the keynote speaker on June 2.

The event was sponsored by the Connecticut Association of Urban Superintendents, CAG and the CT State Department of Education.  The corporate sponsor was ING, whose support is greatly appreciated.

See below for some photos of the event.
