Legislative Update

During last year's legislative session, the line item for Gifted and Talented Education funding was cut from the final budget at the very last minute of budget negotiations. Although it is very disappointing to get that close, and not end up with anything, the time and effort expended will not go to waste. There was a large amount of support voiced and goodwill created. Since the budget was set for two years last session, and there is now a deficit projected, there is no chance of getting anything this year.  The legislative effort on behalf of gifted children is still ongoing, however and will continue until it is successful.  Please stay tuned for further developments.
